Dear Colleagues, dear Friends,
40th EIASM Strategic Human Resource Management Workshop
The international co-chairs of the EIASM Strategic Human Resource Management Workshop are delighted to announce that Professor Francoise Chevalier (Department of Management and Human Resources at HEC Paris) and Professor Elaine Farndale (School of Labor and Employment Relations at Penn State) have accepted nominations to join the workshop as permanent co-chairs. They have made important contributions to the field of HR and have extensive networks of other researchers and companies highly engaged in HR research and management. They are both excellent mentors, which is an important contribution we want the workshop to continue developing. They will be able to carry on the nearly 40 years of important impacts the workshop made under such luminaries as former chairs, Dan Ondrack, Chris Brewster, Paul Evans, and Martin Hilb. We are very honored that Francoise and Elaine will join us and ensure the future contributions of the workshop.
To celebrate the renewal of our international leadership and the 40th anniversary of our workshop we decided to broaden our focus and open the workshop to case studies focused on the European context and its effect on human resource management policies and practices.
The impact of European institutions and cultures on HRM is poorly documented but an essential part of understanding the role of HRM on the success of Europe and its economy. Our search of the Harvard Business Publishing and the European Case Centre platforms found that there are relatively few modern case studies available that focus on HR Governance and HR Management in European countries.. We want to change this and negotiated with HEC Paris and Harvard Business Publishing to publish cases in their series. We believe we can develop these cases with your help because many of you have a strong interest in developing pedagogical material centered on the concerns of European workers and companies.
Therefore, we invite you consider submitting your existing or newly developed case studies to the upcoming workshop, hosted by our local co-chair, Professor Eric Davoine, and scheduled to be held at the University of Fribourg in Fribourg, Switzerland, April 24-25, 2025.
The conference abstract submission deadline will be extended to February 10th to accommodate this new project.
To facilitate travel plans we will send acceptances for submitted research and case abstracts within two weeks of their upload on the workshop EIASM page.
If you have any questions about the development and publishing of your cases please do not hesitate to contact us.
